How We Work

Step-by-step process – The loan cycle

Our approach is structured, transparent and designed for sustainability. We follow a cycle-based model, ensuring that funds are continuously reused to help more individuals.

1. Community Identification

Local representatives identify individuals and families with genuine need and a practical business plan (tailoring, livestock, shop inventory, agriculture inputs, etc.).

2. Application & Review

HEWT reviews the applicant’s plan, local context, and the amount needed,

keeping the focus on what will realistically increase income.

3. Loan Disbursement (Interest-Free)

Approved borrowers receive an interest-free loan with no collateral. Funds are intended specifically for business-related use.

4. Guidance & Check-ins

Local representatives provide light-touch support to ensure funds are used as intended and to troubleshoot early challenges.

5. Flexible Repayment

Borrowers repay the principal only, on a schedule, typically monthly repayments, helping families avoid harmful debt cycles.

6. Pay-It-Forward Impact

Repaid funds are used to issue new loans to other families—expanding impact without charging interest.
