Our Success Stories

Story # 1: Meenakashi from Tharparkar, Sind Province

Meenakashi’s story shows exactly how one small, interest-free HEWT loan can change the direction of an entire family. Before receiving support, her family was living on the edge of survival — there were days when they could afford only one meal. But Meenakashi had skill, courage, and the desire to work; what she lacked was the small amount of capital needed to begin. She started selling food items to her villagers and engaged her husband and kids in her business as well. That income did not just help her personally — it brought food, stability, and dignity into her home. Her family moved from surviving on one meal a day to being able to afford three meals, a simple change that represents a life-changing difference for a mother and her children.

This is the true power of HEWT’s interest-free microloan model: it does not create dependency; it creates opportunity. A small loan gave Meenakashi an ability to earn Rs: 3000 a day, improving her livelihood as well as to make savings to expand into other businesses.

Story # 2: Salma from Lahore, Punjab Province

Salma got first small loan from to purchase a sewing machine and started tailoring clothes for women and children. She repaid the first loan and received a bigger loan from HEWT. What began as a small loan for Salma became the life-changing event in her life and the lives of her family. With her hard work and creativity and an opportunity to improve her livelihood and became a dignified and self-sufficient member of town. This income is now creating stability and security for this family.

With a modest amount of US $86 initially and then the second loan of $172 she created an opportunity to build a livelihood with dignity, she was able to establish a source of income that brought food to the table, stability to the household, and hope for her children's future.

Story # 3: Ameenath from Diplo, Sind Province

What began as a small loan through HEWT for Ameenath became the catalyst for a remarkable transformation in her life and the lives of those she loves. With a modest amount of US $86 initially and then the second loan of $172 she created an opportunity to build a livelihood with dignity, she was able to establish a source of income that brought food to the table, stability to the household, and hope for her children's future. She reared livestock like goats, sheep and cows and then sold them for profit. Her success empowered the entire family, allowing them to pursue education, improve their living conditions, and dream beyond mere survival. What once seemed impossible became attainable because someone believed in her potential.

The ripple effect

When one woman rises, her children are more likely to attend school. These educated children earn more as adults and educate their children. Research from the World Bank and UNICEF consistently shows that a girl who completes secondary school earns up to 25% more per year of schooling and marries later, has fewer and healthier children, and is far less likely to live in poverty.

A $300 loan today can alter the trajectory of a family for 50 years or more. We are not simply funding businesses, we are changing generations and making everlasting impacts.
